Practice for high attainers, a pile of vector resources and a bit of mathematical colouring

Blogs

  • "Stretching Practice" from  @mathsjem ~ Jo linked this last week in response to a #mathsTLP question about practice problems for high attainers - there's lots of great stuff here I'll be checking out to stretch my Y10 group this year.
  • "An apology from the DfE" from @MichaelT1979 via @Sue_Cowley ~ This really made me appreciate just how tough primaries have it this year!

Resources

  • One incorrect simplification from Median (via @mathsjem) ~ A really nice probing/challenging set of problems on algebraic simplification.
  • Vectors resources (via @DocendoTim) ~ There's a large selection of stuff here for teaching vectors.
  • A rough guide to new GCSE from @Ms_Kmp ~ A good infographic showing GCSE changes and comparisons; this might be useful for both pupils and parants and serve as a useful reminder for teachers.

Other Awesome Stuff

Nice one, especially as there are an infinite number of solutions https://t.co/0OGlorMbdD

13 x 13 = 169 this is also true if read in reverse! 31 x 31 = 961 #numberfacts #mathschat pic.twitter.com/H7HbGRRUCs
