When I set up my original site a few years ago, I used to post all of my resources directly. Unfortunately, I found that these resources were subsequently being downloaded or copied to other sites with no attribution, and in most cases were the result of automated web-crawls.

While I don't have an issue with legitimate resource sharing, I got quite annoyed that the stuff I'd worked really hard on was being plastered randomly on the Internet with no attribution. When migrating to my new site, I decided to use password protection as a means of stopping this from happening.
